Knock out a few laps in the enticing 17-metre freshwater swimming pool, ideal for serious swimmers and beginners alike. Laze in the hammock while your kids splash around in the safe shallow plunge-pool, located adjacent to the main pool but separated by the timber decking under the gazebo.

Pantai Berawa (Berawa Beach) (1km) is known for its brown sugar sand and rolling surf, which offers mellow rights and lefts that break over a mixed rocky reef out the back and sand bottom through the inside. Swim in safety between the yellow & red flags under the watch eyes of the lifeguards.

The cool, dark and mysterious Sangeh Monkey Forest (25km from the villa) is home to about 700 long tailed macaques and 2000 straight-trunked ‘Palahlar’ trees, soaring up to 60 metres. It’s believed that the forest is more than three centuries old. There are four temples here, including the moss-covered Pura Bukit Sari in the heart of the forest.

Head up to the peaceful village of Munduk in Bali’s lake district, the drive is 2hrs 15mins but it’s worth it. See the three lakes and enjoy a gentle trek through clove and coffee plantations to bathe or splash at any of the three famous waterfalls in the area: Munduk, Melanting and Laangan Melanting.
